Guide drives option;

The Yamaha Viking 6-seater 4×4 guide driven Off-Road buggy can easily navigate any of the terrain across all the mountain trails on offer along with the quad bike tours. The buggy also offers more comfort by being a smoother ride with its superior suspension as well as a windscreen & roof to protect from the elements. Enjoy being driven by one of our friendly entertaining guides!  

Self drive option;

NEW!! Yamaha Viking 3 seater side-by-side off-road buggies now available, passenger or self drive* (*T&C’s apply). Great for couples or families where one person is confident & capable to do the driving.

Whether it’s a special daddy/daughter day out or all three generations, we can provide a safe and fun family excursion in the mountains of the spectacular Cardrona valley. You can choose from our horses, quad bikes, or our 3/6-seater 4×4 off-road buggies or a combination of all three we can look after you in a small or private outing and create lasting family memories to treasure.

*Self drive buggy requires a valid drivers licence & credit card details to be sighted & held upon arrival. A good command of the English language is also necessary.

We remind you that this is a “scenic tour” NOT A RACE! Behaviours that will not be tolerated; • Excessive speed • Attempting to do ‘snakeys’/ sideways / drifting / donuts • Following too close / ‘tailgating’ the bike in front • Riding in an unsafe/ abusive/ reckless / irresponsible manner We MUST respect the land, animals, the quad bikes & others on the tour. You are required to pay for any damage you cause to bikes/ equipment. Booking confirmation includes acceptance you will provide a valid credit card that will be charged for any damages. Smoking is not permitted on the premises or on the mountain at any time Failure to follow these instructions may result in your tour being terminated with NO REFUND Enjoy your THE CARDRONA Experience!! 

Our off-road buggy experience may be suitable for guests with mobility impairments, depending on their individual mobility and accessibility requirements. The buggies are stable, enclosed off-road vehicles with comfortable seating and do not require the physical balance or leg strength needed to operate a quad bike.

We are happy to discuss individual requirements in advance and, where possible, make reasonable adjustments to assist guests with accessing the buggy and enjoying the experience safely.

As the activity takes place in a natural alpine environment and involves uneven off-road terrain, guests must be able to safely transfer into and out of the buggy, or have an appropriate level of assistance available. We recommend contacting us before booking so we can discuss the specific requirements and determine whether the experience is appropriate.

Our priority is to ensure every guest can participate safely, comfortably and with confidence.

Incredible Afternoon in the Valley

Our family , 12 and 14 year old girls, and 17 year old boy along with hubby and mobility impaired Grandma had an amazing time with Kelly today . The girls enjoyed the mini quads, the boys the adult quads and Mum and I in the all- terrain buggy. Kelly guided us along the river explaining just enough about the history and the local flora and fauna to educate the group but not lose their interest. The terrain was enough to keep everyone excited with a few creek crossings and challenges. The scenery was exquisite and Kelly gave us 100% of her energy and focus the kids and adults all came away from the experience enthralled! Thank you Kelly for showing us the farm and your local flora and fauna. A uniquely NZ experience not to be missed ! 🤩
